General Manager

Loretta Johnson is the General Manager of Rural Health Group, bringing extensive experience and distinguished leadership in rural healthcare management to the organisation. Her appointment in November 2024 signifies a major step forward for RHG as the organisation strengthens its commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare across Queensland.

Before joining RHG, Loretta served with distinction as Acting Director and Chief Superintendent for the Queensland Ambulance Services in the Mackay district. Her leadership and dedication to improving healthcare outcomes, particularly in rural and remote communities, earned her the prestigious recognition as Queensland’s Rural, Remote, and Regional Woman of the Year in 2019.

In her role at RHG, Loretta oversees operational management, driving strategic initiatives designed to enhance healthcare service delivery in rural and remote regions. Her deep commitment to community-focused healthcare and mental health services positions her as a valuable asset to both the organisation and the communities it serves.

Adrian McKelvie

Chief Financial Officer

Adrian works with RHG in a part-time capacity as the Chief Financial Officer, focused on financial strategy and skills development.

With nearly 40 years’ experience in senior finance and management roles, Adrian’s career spans both commercial and not-for-profit sectors. In recent years, his work has centred on short-term appointments within not-for-profits, where he helps strengthen financial frameworks and build internal capability for long-term impact.

Outside of work, Adrian enjoys time with family, gardening, watching AFL, and staying active. A former Ironman triathlete, he’s now traded marathons for a more relaxed pace – though he hasn’t lost the competitive spirit.

Louise O’Leary

Business & Finance Manager

Louise O’Leary is the Business & Finance Manager at Rural Health Group, where she oversees and manages the financial responsibilities to ensure the organisation’s ongoing sustainability and success.

Louise has built her impressive career within RHG, progressing from an administration officer to finance officer, senior finance officer, and ultimately to Finance Manager – a journey that, by 2025, marks ten dedicated years with the organisation. Prior to joining RHG, Louise gained valuable professional experience in the banking and real estate sectors, complementing her strong financial expertise. Alongside her professional achievements, she proudly balances her role as a dedicated mum to three amazing children.

Louise is deeply passionate about maintaining RHG’s financial health to ensure essential medical services remain accessible and sustainable for the communities the organisation serves. She brings a results-oriented approach to her role, continuously implementing streamlined financial processes aimed at optimising outcomes and driving financial excellence. Anita Salisbury

(Bachelor of Nursing) Clinical Lead, Manager of Clinical Governance and Service Development

Anita is an experienced Clinical Nurse with a background across acute and community settings. She has worked in surgical, emergency, and general ward nursing throughout Central Queensland and the Wide Bay region, and has led school health and community health promotion programs for over 20 years. Anita has also been involved in accreditation processes across public and private hospitals and continues to work in school nursing and acute hospital roles alongside her position at RHG.

Anita is passionate about providing safe, effective primary healthcare and believes in the importance of early detection, disease prevention, and improving health literacy. She values collaboration, accountability, and innovation, and is committed to delivering high-quality services to rural communities.

Kerry Wells

Acting Operations Manager

Kerry Wells is the Acting Operations Manager for Rural Health Group, bringing steadfast leadership, practical insight, and unwavering commitment to supporting the day-to-day operations of all RHG practices. Kerry works closely with teams across the organisation to ensure practices are well supported, operations run smoothly, and quality standards are consistently maintained.

Before joining RHG approximately three years ago, Kerry served as Practice Manager at Hughenden Doctors Surgery for six years. Her extensive background in healthcare administration, complemented by over two decades running a successful helicopter company with her husband, has equipped her with exceptional management skills and strong business acumen.

Kerry is deeply dedicated to maintaining accessible and sustainable healthcare within rural communities. She values transparent communication and believes in fostering strong, trusting relationships with both her teams and the communities they support. Her professional approach, attention to detail, and genuine passion for rural healthcare make her an invaluable asset to the Rural Health Group.

Demi is the Manager of People and Culture at Rural Health Group, where her primary focus is managing human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations.

She brings over eight years of extensive experience in the healthcare and community services sector, having previously worked across public health, women’s health, dentistry, and specialist clinics. Demi’s background includes significant roles such as Human Resources and Finance Senior Officer at Gladstone Women’s Health, where she led recruitment, payroll, financial reporting, compliance, and administrative team management. Additionally, she served as an Assistant Consultant in Corporate Training at Metro South Health, supporting training initiatives, professional development programs, and employee induction processes.

Growing up in the rural community of Monto, Demi deeply understands the challenges rural residents face in accessing essential healthcare services. She is passionate about supporting rural communities to ensure equitable healthcare access comparable to urban centres.
